Terms & Conditions

 These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Global Guardian application. By activating your account, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App. 

Global Guardian is a panic and emergency response app ("App") operated by Global Choices Lifestyle (Pty) Ltd ("Global Choices", "we", "us"). The App provides access to armed security response and medical response services through an integration with the AURA Platform, operated by Rappid Response (Pty) Ltd ("AURA APP").

By downloading, registering for, or using Global Guardian, you ("User") agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before activating any service. 

• Global Guardian enables you to activate a Panic Activation – a distress signal sent via the App – which is routed through the AURA Platform to a network of armed security and/or medical response service providers ("Responders"). 

• The service is powered by the AURA APP Service Provider Network. AURA APP and/or its Responders are independent third parties. Global Choices facilitates your access to these services but does not itself provide armed response or medical services. 

• A Response will only be dispatched if: 

  • an available Responder is online and able to attend; 

  • your Panic Activation falls within a covered Response Area (see clause 5); and 

  • your account is active, and all applicable subscription fees have been paid. 

• Nothing in these Terms creates a contractual relationship between you and AURA APP or any individual Responder. 

• Access to the Response services requires payment of a Monthly Access Fee as set out in the App or your membership documentation. The fee is charged per user per month, regardless of whether a Response is actually used. 

• Fees are inclusive of VAT unless otherwise stated. 

• Fees may be escalated annually in line with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) or as otherwise communicated to you. 

• If your account falls into arrears, Global Choices reserves the right to suspend access to Responses until all outstanding amounts are paid in full. 

• The Monthly Access Fee is payable in advance for the month ahead.

• The AURA APP Service Provider Network operates within designated Response Areas. Coverage is available at https://coverage.aura.services/. It is your responsibility to verify whether your location falls within a covered area. 

• AURA APP commits to the following indicative response times (from Panic Activation to Responder arrival on scene) for security responses: 

  • 40% of responses within 8 minutes; 

  • 30% of responses between 8 and 12 minutes; 

  • 20% of responses between 12 and 15 minutes;

  • 10% of responses above 15 minutes. 

• These are targets based on network averages. Actual response times may vary due to traffic, Responder availability, weather, and other factors. These targets do not constitute a guarantee. 

• The service covers a wide range of security incident types including but not limited to: hijacking, armed robbery, assault, domestic abuse, home invasion, vehicle breakdown, and medical emergencies.

• The services provided through Global Guardian are intended as a deterrent and response service. They are not a guarantee that any criminal act or emergency will be prevented. 

• Global Guardian and the AURA APP services do not constitute or replace an insurance policy. 

• To the fullest extent permitted by law, Global Choices and AURA APP shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential loss or damage, including loss of life, personal injury, property damage, or any other harm, arising from: 

• the act or omission of any Responder or service provider; 

• any delay in Response or failure to respond; 

• any malfunction of the App, the AURA Platform, or the integration between them; 

• your location falling outside the Response Area; or 

• any circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

• By using Global Guardian, you consent to Global Choices and AURA APP collecting, processing, and sharing your personal information (including your name, contact details, and real-time location data) to the extent necessary to provide you with the Response service. 

• Both Global Choices and AURA APP are committed to complying with all applicable data protection laws, including the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). 

• Your personal information will not be used for any purpose other than delivering the service and related administration, without your prior written consent. 

• Both parties maintain appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal information against loss, unauthorised access, or unlawful processing. 

• For further details, please refer to Global Choices' Privacy Policy available in the App. 

• You agree to use the App and the Panic Activation feature responsibly and only in genuine emergency situations. 

• You are responsible for ensuring that your device location services are enabled. If your location cannot be verified, dispatch may be delayed. 

• You must keep your account credentials confidential and notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account. 

• You must not attempt to access, copy, reverse-engineer, or circumvent the AURA Platform or any related software, or encourage any third party to do so. 

• You must not contact any Responder or security service provider directly to solicit services outside of the App. 

• False activations: While the App will attempt to verify Panic Activations, you acknowledge that repeat false activations may result in suspension of your access. 

• All intellectual property in the Global Guardian App, including its design, software, trade name, and content, belongs to Global Choices. 

• 8.2. All intellectual property in the AURA Platform, its software, API, and related technology belong to AURA APP (Rappid Response Proprietary Limited). 

• 8.3. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights in either party's intellectual property beyond the limited right to use the App for its intended purpose. 

• You may cancel your subscription at any time by providing written notice. Your access to Response services will remain active until the end of the current billing period. Cancellations made during a paid month are non-refundable.

• Global Choices may suspend or terminate your access with immediate effect if: 

• you breach these Terms and fail to remedy the breach within 14 days of written notice; 

• you commit a second or further similar breach within any 12-month period; 

• your account remains in arrears despite demand for payment; 

• you engage in conduct that constitutes grounds for summary termination. 

• Upon termination, your access to the AURA Platform and Response services via the App will cease immediately.

• Governing law: These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. 

• Whole agreement: These Terms, together with your subscription documentation, constitute the whole agreement between you and Global Choices in respect of the Global Guardian service. 

• Variation: Any amendments to these Terms must be in writing. We will notify you of material changes via the App or email. Continued use of the App after notice constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. 

• Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
